"Contemplating Autumn on a Late Summer Afternoon" abstract aspen trees palette knife painting by Kate Dardine

Contemplating Autumn on a Late Summer Afternoon
10x8, acrylic on gessoed board

Did you ever lay on your back on the grass and look up at the sky through a canopy of leaves, breathing in the smell of summer? Here in the higher altitudes of northern Colorado, although the calendar says summer, there is a tiny hint of the season to come in the aspens. The leaves rattle in the breeze, and a few early adapters have already started to change color. Ready to frame.
